Dato’ Jagjit Singh a/l Bant Singh, is the Founding Partner of Jagjit Ariff & Co and specializes in criminal cases including Money Laundering, Commercial Crime, Preventive detention and drugs cases. He is also currently a Commissioner at the Malaysia Competition Commission and an Independent Non-Executive Chairman of 3A Resources Berhad.

Dato’ Jagjit, a former judge holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of London and a Master of Law with Merit in Commercial and Corporate Law from King’s College, University of London. He has served as a Magistrate, Federal Counsel, Deputy Treasury Solicitor, Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Health, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Senior Assistant Parliamentary Draftsman and a Sessions Court Judge at Kuantan, Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.

He has authored 2 books, ‘The Practical Approach to the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights’ and ‘Civil Trials Guidebook’. As a Deputy Public Prosecutor and Senior Federal Counsel, Dato’ Jagjit has conducted numerous criminal and civil cases at the Federal Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, Sessions Court and the Magistrate’s Court.

As a Sessions Court Judge, Dato’ Jagjit has presided over numerous civil and criminal cases including money laundering, Security Commission offences, criminal breach of trust and cheating. Many of his judgements have been reported in the Current Law Journal (CLJ), All Malaysia Reports (AMR) and Sessions and Magistrate’s Cases (SMC).
